If you are all about sound quality and you want the best, the 7.7" speakers offer imrpoved performance and sound quality over the 6.5" If you have the room , you have the budget, and you have the space to fit the larger, 7.7" M6 speakers, do it. The M6, 7.7" speakers offer better efficienty, increased power handling, more cone surface area, and a larger tweeter than the the 6.5" M6's. When powered properly, (like with the amp included in this package) the 7.7" will play lounder and just flat-out sound better than the 6.5". These JL Audio M6 speakers feature unique, marine-grade, silk-dome tweeters. Most other marine speakers use titanium and aluminum dome tweeters
and as a result, the marine speakers tend to be extremely bright and treble-forward. This is not the case with the JL Audio M6. You get that rich, warm, well balanced sound you expect from silk dome tweeters and those silk dome tweeters can still withstand the water, the salt-fog, the UV rays, and everything else mother nature and the marine environment can throw at them.
