The Rockford Fosgate M5-1500X5 is an incredible small yet powerful amplifier. The M5-1500X5 is an improvement and upgrade based on the Rockford Fosgate Power Mini Marine
amplifier the TM1000X5AD. In the M5 version, it is now waterproof and IPX6 rated. This means that the amplifier is waterproof, but it can't be submerged.
You can wash it down hose it off, you just can't stick it under water. The waterproof pigtails and connectors are included with the amplifier as well as the smoked cover for the controls. You must
use the cover and the included harnesses to achieve the IPX6 rating. In addition, the amplifier now features "Preset" switches if you are using it with a Rockford Fosgate UTV stereo kit. You can simply turn the "Preset" switch to the "On" position, select the high-pass or low-pass filter, and the amp will be preset to the ideal tune developed from Rockford's engineers.
From a power standpoint, the M5-1500X5 uses the new CTA-2006, industry standard, Dynmaic Power ratings and proves
that this amplifier out performs the traditional bench specs. The M5-800X4 puts out 125 watts of power to each speaker at 4 ohms and 200 watts of power at 2 ohms. For the subwoofer, the amplifier puts out 400 watts at 4 ohms and 700 watts at both 2 and 1 ohm. This is tons of raw power coming out of a very compact,
yet efficient amplifier. More power = more volume = More Fun.
Per the CTA-2006 specification, the constant power rating
is the wattage for the test bench to compare amplifiers against amplifiers in a test environment. The Dynamic power rating you see below is the real-word, actual-output of the amplifier when connected to a speaker and playing music. Rockford Fosgate has always been conservative with their ratings, now they have
an industry standard, CTA-2006 to show and prove the actual output.
These amplififers sound incredible. When you compare the size, output, and price, you will see that the M5-800X4 is one of the best values in all marine audio.
