Rockford Fosgate's marine amps will give you all the power distribution you're looking for while being extra resistant to the elements like water, dust, rain, and wind.
On Rockford Fosgate's website, they often like to place their products into three different categories: Good, Better, and Best. We do think this is a handy way to break down their products into easy to define categories. With the Good and Better models, you'll likely find that they may get the job done for your installation, but they might be lacking in certain features.
With the Best amp models, you'll likely have all the features and power you're looking for (and more!), but it will come at a price premium. Whatever your budget or needs list is, we hope that this guide will point you to the perfect marine amp for your installation
M5 Series (BEST)
Rockford Fosgate offers two marine amplifier series that it considers in its "BEST" category that we highlighted before. The first is the M5 Series marine amps
Rockford Fosgate amplifiers are well known for producing more power than their power ratings suggest. With these M5 amplifiers, Rockford Fosgate introduces the first series of amplifiers based on new industry standard Dynamic Power ratings. This allows Rockford Fosgate to bring its conservative power ratings to the forefront.
Rockford Fosgate now lists two power ratings with the M5 marine amps. The first will be the traditional Continuous Power output. The second will be the new Dynamic Power output. The Continuous Power output rating can be looked at as a benchmark to compare against other amplifiers in the same class. The Dynamic Power output rating can be looked at as real-world wattage when connected to a speaker setup while listening to music. This new system provides a nice balance between technical application and real-world output.
In addition to clarifying the power rating, Rockford Fosgate has also introduced what it calls its "next level" of Element Ready™ design. It carries an IPX6 rating which means the amps are protected against high-pressure water streams from any angle. It does this with splash guards on both ends combined with heavy-duty molded harnesses with integral sealing gaskets. This means you can enjoy your day on the water worry-free knowing that your amp is fully protected from water.

Power Series (BEST)
Rockford Fosgate manufacturers a second lineup of marine amplifiers that it classifies in its "BEST" tier. These are the Power Series amps. These amps stand out with their brushed silver coating and top-mounted controls across the whole lineup. The brushed silver coating protects the amplifiers from corrosion, UV rays, and dust. In addition, these amps feature a two-part epoxy-coated circuit board that protects them from corrosion in humid and moist environments.
The Power series also features the second-largest amount of options for power ratings across all of Rockford Fosgate's marine amp lineups. With power rating options from 400 Watts up to 1000 Watts, there's a variety of options to power many different configurations of speakers and subwoofers in your marine vehicle.
These amps also feature Rockford Fosgate's Boosted Rail patented technology. This technology lets the amp draw a small amount of current during normal use. It then creates a reserve of that current for when cranking your tunes out on the water. There are also controls for bass boost and a low pass filter to dial in your setup to fit your desired sound perfectly.

Punch Series (BETTER)
Rockford Fosgate rates its Punch Series Marine Amps slightly below the M5 and Power series in its "BETTER" category. These marine amps are a great option because they split affordability with features, all while providing the largest range of power ratings and amplifier channels to choose from.
In addition, these amps feature a conformal-coated circuitry that withstands moisture and stainless steel hardware, which protects them from corrosion in humid and wet environments.
These amps also feature Rockford Fosgate's Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application. The MEHSA (for short) works by providing up to five times better heat management and transfer over mounting techniques that are usually used. This mounting setup will ensure a worry-free day of music out on the water, even if your amp is located in a small space.

Prime (M2) Series (GOOD)
Rockford Fosgate only has one marine amplifier series that it classifies in its "GOOD" rating. On the plus side, Rockford Fosgate tried to build as many features into these amps as possible while still keeping them at an economical price. These amplifiers still feature the same Element Ready™ protection that is modeled after their BEST M5 series models. It contains a special UV resistant protection to shield it from the sun's rays, and a special internal conformal coating that protects the interior electronics from water.
All of the amplifiers in the M2 series feature extremely efficient class D technology. This technology reduces the demand of the electrical system on the amplifier during use, thus increasing its efficiency. You can be sure that even on a budget, this amp is powerful and efficient enough to keep your music playing all day long out on the water
In addition to making these M2 series amplifiers affordable, Rockford Fosgate also wanted them to be easy to set up and configure. Rockford has done their best to simplify its engineering to create an ease of setup that makes them perfect to use in any marine application.
